Spawning on a Rust server for the first time can be overwhelming. Here is a simple checklist to get you going.

Step 1 — Gather Basics

Punch trees and rocks immediately. Your first goal is 100 wood and 50 stone for a shelter.

Step 2 — Build a Starter Shelter

Place a twig foundation, a door frame with a wooden door, and lock it with a code lock — never a key lock. Set your code first before locking yourself out.

Step 3 — Get to Outpost or Bandit Camp

Both Outpost and Bandit Camp are safe zones where you can recycle components and buy basics from vending machines.

Step 4 — Check Available Kits

Type /kit in chat to see all kits available to you. Starter kits give you basic tools and food to get going.
